Let me introduce Tim Esaias, instructor for our
all-day writing intensive to be held the Thursday prior to the conference.
Why did I pick Tim to lead this class? Tim’s
previous one-hour classes at Pennwriters conferences have been standing room
only. His reputation for handing out chocolate to encourage participation
accounts for some of his popularity, but the main reason for the packed room is
his engaging teaching. An adjunct professor with Seton Hill’s Creative Writing
MFA program, Tim has the writing background and the teaching experience to help
you polish your manuscript.
Tim has designed this class for writers
who have finished a first draft of their novel and want to “workshop” their WIP before
presenting it to an agent or editor. The class includes a critique of your
first three chapters plus an in-depth look at various fiction-writing
techniques.
To ensure direct feedback on writers’
works, the class will be kept to no more than 15 writers. Because this class
focuses on how to be a better fiction writer, all genres — from mystery to
horror to literary — are welcome.
