Anita Nolan is a children’s book author and Executive Editor of Sprouts, the NJ SCBWI magazine. She's written historical fiction for educational publisher Homecourt Publishers, children's magazine articles, and annotations for Best Books for Children. Prior to having children she was an editor for a food industry trade journal.

As a pediatric ER doctor, CJ Lyons has lived the life she writes about. Her first novel,
Lifelines (Berkley, March 2008),
received praise as a "breathtakingly fast-paced medical thriller"
from Publishers Weekly, was reviewed favorably by the Baltimore Sun and
Newsday, named a Top Pick by Romantic Times Book Review Magazine, and became a
National Bestseller. Lifelines
also won a Readers' Choice Award for Best First Novel. Her second novel, Warning Signs, was published by Berkley
in January, 2009, with the third, Urgent
Care, scheduled for November, 2009. CJ is a nationally known presenter and
keynote speaker. She has been invited all over the country to present her
workshops and speak to audiences ranging from physicians to first responders to
romance and thriller authors.
Cyn Balog is the author of the young adult paranormal novels. Her debut novel, Fairy Tale (Delacorte), was published in
2007. Sleepless will be published in
2010 and an as-of-yet-untitled book will be published in 2011. Cyn has a
degree in Communications from Douglass College, Rutgers University in New Brunswick.
Since then, she’s worked for a newpaper, a shrinkwrapping company, an insurance
company, a bank, a promotional products company, and a magazine. She’s
lived in Jersey, the desert of California, Maine, and Pennsylvania. As much as
she tried to resist it, writing has always made Cyn happiest, and she is
thrilled to be able to share her books with an audience—that isn’t related to

Donna Fletcher is a USA bestselling author of twenty-seven historical and paranormal romances. She presently writes for HarperCollins Publishers and has worked for Kensington and Berkley. Her books have sold to Russia, Brazil, Germany and Thailand.
She has presented numerous workshops and lectures on all areas of writing. She was a community relations coordinator for a Borders Bookstore in NJ handling all aspects of marketing including arranging author signings. She is a past-present of New Jersey Romance Writers and is president-elect of Novelist Inc. a world-wide organization for published fiction authors.
Jack Hillman is a novelist,
journalist, playwright, and medical underwriter. His fiction has been published
in multiple magazines while his novel length work currently numbers two young
adult fantasies, There Are Giants in This
Valley and Giants Want the Lost River
(ArcheBooks). On the nonfiction side, Jack has served as a stringer
on local newspapers—winning a Keystone Press Award for his investigative
reporting—and has worked on a wire service covering the insurance industry as
well as serving as a contributing editor to a life underwriting journal for
eleven years. He has worked in the life insurance industry for over thirty
years and has a wide medical background. In addition, Jack is an avid
martial artist, a collector of edged weapons, and a confirmed bibliophile.
Jenny Gardiner is the author of the award-winning Barnes & Noble bestselling novel SLEEPING WITH WARD CLEAVER (Dorchester) and WINGING IT: A Memoir of Caring for a Vengeful Parrot Who's Determined to Kill Me (Gallery Books). Jonathan Maberry writes The Black Panther comic
for Marvel, as well as a variety of projects involving Wolverine, Spider-Man,
the Punisher and other heroes. His novels include Ghost Road Blues (winner of the Bram Stoker Award for Best First
Novel) and Patient Zero (St Martins
Press 2009) with three more novels and two more nonfiction books due out in the
next two years. Jonathan is the cocreator of On the Slab, an entertainment news show in development by Stage 9
for ABC Disney/Stage 9. He is a founding member of The Liars Club, a group of networking publishing professionals; host of the Writers
Coffeehouse, a monthly networking session for writers of all genres and levels

Lisa D. Kastner is president of

Once upon a time, best
selling author Loree Lough
(literally) sang for her supper. Now and then, she blows the dust from her
6-string to croon a tune or two, but mostly, she just writes. At last count,

Maria V. Snyder switched careers from meteorologist to novelist when she began writing the New York Times best-selling Study Series (Poison Study, Magic Study and Fire Study) about a young woman who becomes a poison taster. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Maria dreamed of chasing tornados, but lacked the skills to forecast their location. Writing, however, lets Maria control the weather. Nancy Daversa is a producer for Channel 20-HMC-TV, a local Pennsylvania television
station that is part of the Hershey’s Mill Community of West Chester. The
station is a “hybrid,” which produces eight shows a month plus commercials and
community service announcements. In the past, the station has partnered with
Channel 12, PBS-Philadelphia to film some segments of Ken Burn’s movie, The War. The station is in its second
season of a soap opera and has produced a radio show as well. During the
conference, Nancy is running a contest for Published Pennwriters. The winner
will be featured in a 15-minute interview as part of the station’s “Meet the
Author” television show.
Nate Hardy Nate Hardy is the
founder of Plus Sign Business & Life Coaching. Prior to launching his
company, he helped a start-up pre-IPO corporation grow to a $20+ million
consultancy in 4 years. He manages several websites on business, human
behavior, inspiration, and motivation--gaining a Google PageRank of 4 in only a
few short months. A member of the Marketing Research Association, American
Marketing Association, Philadelphia area Chamber of Commerce, he has authored
papers for the leading publications and organizations of the industry. He is a
former Tribune newspaper journalist and award-winning published writer of over
100 fiction and nonfiction works, including comic strips and a weekly
automotive review column. In addition to being the Chair of Internet Activities
for Pennwriters, he served as an assistant editor, advertising manager,
and in other capacities for various publishers.
Pam Jenoff is the author of international
bestseller and Quill award nominee, The
Kommandant's Girl, as well as The
Diplomat's Wife and Almost Home. Prior
to her writing career, she served as special assistant to the secretary of the
Army, which gave her the opportunity to help the families of the Pan Am Flight
103 victims secure their memorial at Arlington National Cemetery, observe
recovery efforts at the site of the Oklahoma City bombing, and attend
ceremonies to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of World War II at sites
such as Bastogne and Corregidor. In 1996 she was assigned to the U.S. Consulate
in Krakow, Poland where she developed her expertise in Polish-Jewish relations
and the Holocaust. Pam is now employed as an attorney in Philadelphia.
Ramona DeFelice Long is one of the Delaware Division of the Arts 2009
Fellowship winners as an Established Artist in Fiction. Her short stories and
nonfiction have appeared in juvenile and literary publications both in print
and online, and she contributed to and co-edited a collection of short stories
by Delaware writers called Stories from
the Inkslingers. She works as a freelance editor and professional writing
coach specializing in mysteries and short stories and has taught workshops and
classes in many areas of writing.
Tim Esaias is a writer and poet living in Pittsburgh. His short stories, ranging
from literary to genre, have been published in fourteen languages. He has over
one hundred poems in print, including Spanish, Swedish, and Chinese
translations, in markets ranging from Asimov’s
Science Fiction to Elysian Fields
Quarterly: The Literary Journal of Baseball. He was also a finalist for the
British Science Fiction Award and won the Asimov’s Readers Award. He is adjunct
faculty at Seton Hill University in the Writing Popular Fiction MFA Program.
His current project is a book on warfare for writers. Tim is always a popular
instructor at Pennwriters Conferences, which of course has nothing to do with
the chocolate he hands out to encourage participation in his classes.
